Hi people. Always liked Toyotas but never stayed the course. Last new truck was 1982 SR5 HiLux, then in 1992 bought an 85 FJ60 Diesel 4 banger with 5spd manual. That was it until now where I am testing a 25 Taco TRD OR 6 spd manual on this coming Monday. I like to pair a turbo engine with a manual to get the upper cylinder heat with boost even at lower speeds. Hard to drive like that with an auto. Today I designed a sway bar decoupler that is sealed from the elements and would use a cable and lever with springs to disconnect and reconnect. Sway bar will require cutting and machining with collars welded on each piece that will prevent the piece from rotating. We cannot get the decoupler here unless one buys the TRD Pro or the Trailhunter in Canada. Why? Who knows.

Anyway I do believe they have sorted the issues out with the 2025 model and look forward to slight mods like Elka suspension and some external goodies

Not entirely sure why you'd want more cylinder heat. High cylinder temps just gets you closer to a knock event. At least the T24A-FTS has port injectors so hopefully these engines won't have carbon buildup issues.

The manual trans T24A-FTS tune actually has less torque at lower RPM than the auto, mostly to get the driver to downshift.. Which kind of negates the whole long stroke, vertical DI, and twin scroll setup.

I'm not entirely sure what driving style has to do with cylinder temps 😅
