Hi all, long time reader first time poster. Unfortunately not what I wanted to be posting about but was wondering if anyone else had seen a similar issue.
Woke up this morning drove to a neighbors for a minute, probably about a half mile total. Got back home and noticed a huge puddle in my garage where my back drivers side wheel sits. Parked and looked around couldn’t find anything actively dripping because it seems like whatever was leaking had been emptied already. Initial thought was brakes but I had the recall fix done last summer and now after letting the car sit all day the brake fluid reservoir still shows full.
A quick google search showed that the stock bilsteins use hydraulic fluid so could it be that and not the brakes?
I am color blind so if I describe the color wrong I apologize but whatever was on the ground was very oily/greasy and had a light orange red color to it which is why I thought brake fluid at first. I didn’t notice any brake issues or feel anything off but it was slow neighborhood driving down the street, so not conditions where I would really expect to feel anything. More so just wanting some reassurance it’s not the brakes or something mechanical before I drive 30 minutes to the dealer. If it helps it’s a 24 trd off road with about 17k miles, I bought it on Halloween in 24, so only fitting that it’s finally giving me a spook. Otherwise have loved the truck since I bought it so fingers crossed it’s a simple fix after a trip to the dealer.
