CONFIRMED - NO Crossmember Bar Needed*

Just finished installing the Lexland Black TRD Skid Plate (LEXT0351) on my 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport and wanted to share my experience for anyone considering it.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the skid plate, especially considering the price point. Is it the thickest skid plate on the market? No, there are definitely heavier-duty options available. However, for the money, this thing is an excellent value and is easily 100x better than the factory fabric skid plate that came on my TRD Sport.

The fit and finish were excellent. Every hole lined up perfectly and installation was straightforward enough to complete by myself. The skid plate reuses the three bolts that held the factory air dam in place and also uses four additional mounting points—two factory bolts from the OEM fabric/plastic (dont know what to call it!) skid plate and two threaded holes at the rear of the frame that were unused on my truck.

One thing I really like is that it does not require an additional crossmember support bar. In fact, if you already have an aftermarket crossmember bar installed, this skid plate will not work. For my setup, the direct bolt-on design was a plus since I didnt have to spend $100+ on an aftermarket piece.

The powder coating appears to be good quality and arrived with a clean, uniform finish. Of course, only time will tell how it holds up to road debris, weather, and daily use, but first impressions are positive.

Another nice feature is the built-in access door for oil filter changes, which should make maintenance much easier without removing the entire skid plate.

My only installation tip concerns the two rear mounting holes. The supplied bolts absolutely fit and will thread in correctly, but the threaded holes on my truck had some dirt and light surface contamination in them from the factory. The bolts did not spin in easily at first. I took my time to ensure I wasn’t cross-threading anything, and once they started threading properly they went in fine. You may just need a little extra elbow grease on those rear bolts.

After installation, I feel much more confident about the protection underneath the truck. It provides substantially better coverage and durability than the factory setup, and it looks great as well.

Pros:
Great value for the money
Heavy-duty construction
Perfect fitment
Easy one-person installation
Reuses factory mounting points
No crossmember required
Oil filter access door
Looks great
Much better protection than OEM

Cons:
Won’t work if you already have a crossmember bar installed
Rear threaded holes may require cleaning out before installation

Overall, I’d definitely recommend it to early 2024-2025 SR-5 and TRD Sport owners looking for an affordable upgrade over the factory skid plate without spending premium skid plate money.
