I'm in the market for a 2nd set of wheels to put my winter tires on. I'd like to get some light(er) weight ones and keep it all stock if they're on the market. Do you guys have any recommendations?

I went 17" Method 705 with +35 offset, I believe they are a pound or two lighter, but just about any tire will be heavier than the OEM BFG slicks...
I'm going to use my OEM wheels for winter since they're tucked inside the wells a little more, and going to use 255/75/17"

I put my winter tires on a set of SR5 wheels a guy wanted to get rid of. Not fancy but use the same lug nuts.

x2 on the SR5 idea. You can probably find a set pretty easily (and hopefully cheap). Won't feel bad getting them dirty of even a little scuffed up for winter.

I'm hoping these will come out in production soon; there's already a working prototype for cars and light trucks called Michelin Uptis (talk about light weighed tires). 😅

  • NO maintenance required, since it's one single unit (one bad thing I see is that it takes away the uniqueness of the type of wheels people often use on their trucks).
  • Comfort/ Stability - reduces the "bounce" associated with pneumatic tires.
  • Don't have to worry about nails puncturing the tires. Good for street & off-roading.
  • Essentially last 2-3x longer than standard pneumatic tires.
