Lost 2nd, 4th and 6th gear @ 14,500 miles

Reverse, 1st, 3rd and 5th still engage.

When shifting, it will not go into the gate, it goes in partially and will not seat properly. I can still drive it using 1st to 3rd and to 5th.

Anybody else have these issues with their manual tranny?

I will have to wait until Monday to take it to a dealer for official diagnostics.

A few early manuals had a similar problem. If I remember it was a fairly simple fix? Someone will chime in with better details?

Sorry, that is a transmission swap; there is a TSB as the poster above suggested. May I ask what mileage you had before this happened and if there were warning signs (I own a 6MT in that VIN range as well).

Thank you for the information, and I hope the warranty work goes smoothly and quickly for you. I thought that all of the failures would be within a few thousand miles, and as such it does worry me a bit to find one fail at over 10k miles. I'm thinking about that extended warranty right now....

(Silver lining with this issue is that at least it isn't a show stopper if it fails in the woods; you can limp back in 1st / 3rd / 5th back onto a road at the very least)

June 5th will be my technical portion. About 4 manual transmissions available, 1 in Chicago and 3 in Pennsylvania.

Orders it on June 6, will be at dealer June 9. Total 5 workdays back on the road.

He is already getting the rental lined up for me.

It is a bummer but glad to hear they are taking care of you. Silver lining is that you'll have a new transmission after the process change, while the rest of us have to just wait and see if it will happen as I don't think there is a way to see if ours is cracked / going to crack.

what does your VIN end with? Mine is around ~42000 and I’ve got around 11k miles no issues. Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this. Allegedly they fixed it past vin #s 25000+
