Good morning, Pals!
Today I wanted to share my honest review of the Naturnest RTT.
First off—this isn’t a sponsored post (though I definitely wouldn’t have minded if it was
). The package arrived in a secure wooden crate. Installation was a bit tricky, but that was more due to my bed rack than the tent itself.
Pros:
Cons:
Final Thoughts:
Overall, this is a very solid RTT. The size is great, the blackout feature is amazing, and setup/breakdown is super easy. The colors also look sharp.
For the $1,800 sale price (full price is around $2,000), I think it’s well worth the money. Definitely recommend it if you’re in the market for a rooftop tent.

Pros:
- Build quality: The material feels very sturdy, and the tent is super spacious. My wife and I both slept comfortably.
- Zippers: Double-sided, smooth, and easy to open/close.
- Comfort in weather: We camped last weekend in Cloudcroft, NM. It rained and dropped to about 40°F. With a queen sleeping bag plus one queen comforter, we stayed warm all night.
- Blackout feature: Hands down my favorite part! Normally, in cheap ground tents, I wake up at 6 a.m. as soon as the sun hits. In this tent, I slept until 9 a.m.—and it still felt like 3 a.m. inside until it started warming up. Game changer.
- Struts & design: The included struts lift the back of the tent another foot and create a nice extra window for airflow.
Cons:
- Latches: The latches that hold the tent closed don’t have a locking option. With the way I mounted it, I’m not worried about theft, but having lockable latches would be a great upgrade.
- Weight: It’s on the heavier side. Gross weight is about 234 lbs, net weight around 135 lbs. Because it isn’t flat, installing it solo is tough.
