Hey guys. I have a 2024 TRD off-road and for the last couple of weeks door lock beep. I've gone into vehicle customization and tried lowering and raising the feedback tone. No success. It was never an issue before. Also tried to clear memory and disconnected the battery. No success. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance.

Setting the lack of sound aside, is the truck otherwise locking? All doors and tailgate?

I read through two threads of similar issues. In one, the Owner confirmed one of the doors was not closing securely. Walking-by, it looked shut, but was not. Something was keeping a rear door from latching completely.

Removing the offending item from the area of the latch corrected the problem.

When I lock my doors I get one beep when I hit the door lock button once, but sometimes I get five beeps. Not sure why, but it drives me crazy!

I have verified all doors and tailgate are completely closed. Also the hood. The week before there was no sound at all. The lock and unlock beeps started to to go from full volume one day to very low the next. Then the next day,and for the last couple weeks, nothing at all.

Another idea is looking at the "beeper" itself, that the connection to it is clean and secure.

"The alarm beeper (or "piezo buzzer") on the 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma is located on the driver's side of the engine bay, situated right behind the radiator support. It is a small gray plastic piece responsible for the lock/unlock beeps, security chirps, and various proximity warnings. "

If you open the back door and then get in the truck, when you get out and lock the truck without opening the back door again, it will beep multiple times to remind you that you may have forgot something in the back seat (like your baby).

Thank you for solving this for me. I’ll go into settings and turn the back seat alert off. No baby’s in my family!

I do not. Searching on-line and under the hood of my own, I could not confirm its location.

In previous generations, it was a plastic, square grey box. Or, it was a round, grilled speaker-looking plastic piece. I didn't see anything like that.

Clicking my own many times, I quickly discovered due to the density of items and the ricochet of the sound, I couldn't tell where it is. It does sound like it is in the front, driver's side, behind the radiator.

It's not in the area of the horns. Looking through the grill, those are clearly visible.

It's not in the area of the Anti-lock Brake System switch block. That metal, horn-looking device is part of the alarm system, but not what makes the beeps.

I did search for parts and part numbers. But this generation is still so new, while I found references and PN#s, there were no photos or diagrams of one for the 4G.

The last thing I can think of is to schedule an appointment at the dealer for them to check out.

Being a 2024, if you're still under 36K miles, you have bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage. If you're past that mileage, most dealers would charge at least a diagnostic fee.

The tech is either going to chuckle and point to it in seconds, or he'll shutter at what needs to be removed to get to it. If they show where it is, I'd like to know.

Good Luck. :please:

One beep means it locked. Five beeps means it did not lock. I'm my experience I get that mostly if I leave the key in the truck or the truck can't find the key at all.
