No longer getting traffic congestion update while using goggle maps on display.

Anyone else loose the traffic information (back ups and accidents) while using carplay on your display screen? I used to have it show me where all the bad traffic was so I could avoid it but now I just get a plan old map just showing me where I'm heading. I check maps on my android and it shows all the traffic congestion but the center infotainment center display no longer does. I don't want to have to look at my phone to see what traffic is doing. Not safe.
I even had the little pointer changed to a little truck for kicks and giggles but that too is gone.
Any suggestions?

Android Auto had a recent update on the Google Play store app and it's giving me the same symptoms

Guess it's just one of those times where we'll have to wait for the next update to fix a bug, only to get another bug to take its place. The circle of life.
