I just had my Yokohama Geolandar A/T4's installed and they are pretty damn loud, especially on smooth roads. I almost bought the Nitto Terra Grappler G3 (265/70), but went with the Yokohama due to it being a bigger tire (275/70) that weighed 3lbs less in SL. But man, between 35 and 50 these are producing a very noticeable hum/whine. Reminds me of howling wind. The Discount Tire house brand AT's we have on my wife's Wrangler in an E load aren't even this loud and they were half the price. I'm also coming from a lifted '06 F150 that had 35x12.5 E rated tires and I don't remember this much road noise either (truck was loud AF though, so maybe I'm wrong).

I'm just wondering what kind of noise you all are having. It's been less than 50 mi so I can get the tire shop to swap these out, but I don't want to be chasing some level of quiet that is impossible on these rigs with ATs.

Tread pattern and asphalt texture can create some loud tire noise.
For sure ! Guess I'm just wondering about other folks' road noises experiences with other AT tires compared to the OEM road-style-at that comes stock on them.

There are more general purpose and road friendly AT like the Trail Terrain TA that were or still might be OEM for the TRD OR models where aftermarket are also 3PMSF rated. I've been very happy with that tire family, and I'm off road a lot as a trail builder and ski area crew. They're very civil and quiet on highway and really good winter tires.

Many seem to go for a look, or setup matters for very specific situations. I've had bigger AT tires before, dedicated snow tires, and all sorts of rigs. Very often that was no good overall. As someone who works off road, does back country sports trips, and has their pickup work oriented, I love the Trail Terrain TA overall. They have exceeded my expectations for someone off road a lot but also doing road trips.

Thanks for the recommendation! I like the ride of these. I didn't really go for looks, I went with rating, weight, and price, but these babies be hummin' on smooth roads!
