Hey everyone, just figured I'd post about a recent addition I added to the truck.
I wanted some surround lights but wanted to keep the truck more of an OEM+ vibe, so I decided to go with the OEM Bed Scene lights, which, for those of you who may not know, is the official title of the bed rail lights the Trail hunters have as standard.
Now these lights are pretty lowkey, and unless you point them out to people as being lights, they probably wouldn't even notice, as they are flush with the bed rail and no other truck really has these, as far as I know.
As far as Installation goes, it's pretty straightforward, but another post goes over it in pretty good detail: Here. I will say, though, the part number #PT944-35241 (or PT944-35240 if you have a short bed) is all you truly need other than a little wrench and a T27 screwdriver, but if you see the AA or AB versions, it is just the part code for the left and right-hand sides, so stay away(ask me how I know). Also, I will add that if you have power to the bed, you don't need to take apart your wheel well like the other guy does in that post; you can just take out the 12V power panel and the V power plug panel and reach your arm in and push the lighting wire through to the bed light. Even if you don't have power to the bed, you can just take off the truck's taillight and attach the wire to a stick, and push it through to the bed light. I'd avoid taking apart the wheel well at all costs due to all those clips and the headache of it all.
Here I am in the middle of installing it :
Here's how it looks installed during the day, barely noticeable:
And then this is it at night :
Overall, I like the way it all looks. It does help with loading the truck up at night or early in the morning but let me know what you guys think and if you will be doing this soon!
