Option to mount 40”+ light bar WITHOUT Roof rack

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone (or any company) has come up with a solution to directly mount light bar, Im assuming 40+ inch (measurement from mounting nuts is 45.5 inch), directly onto the roof mounting points?

Mounting on top of a roof rack is obviously the most common/popular way to do that. But im try to keep a lower profile to only a light bar.

Having ran stand alone light bars on other vehicles, you're almost better off with a rack mount due to the ability to utilize their wind deflectors. Plus they usually mount in the door frame causing water seepage around the weatherstrip and distorted a-pillars. They really are only good for vehicles that do not come with the ability to mount a roof rack. But I'm sure someone out there makes them or will soon.

ive seen the brackets for door frame/A pillar, not a big fan of that.
I would try to bend some aluminum and see about making mounting brackets straight onto roof mounting points/nuts

If you want a light bar with less of a rack, there’s this Sherpa Rainier Shorty option. Just get in line and wait unless you find a reseller who has the rack in stock. Sherpa makes a fabulously solid rack, and it’s pretty nice looking to boot. Easy to install.

You’d want the half fairing option to accommodate spacing for a clean light bar installation. Recommend checking with them if you have a specific light bar that you have your heart set on.

My rack has short fairing with the regular length Rainier rack. I’m waiting on Sherpa’s brackets for the best way to install the light bar.
