Ok first off, anytime I say something on this topic people seem to think I’m saying the service advisor is a master mechanic. To be clear, I know the advisor is just the messenger and sometimes they get the message wrong. But I don’t get to talk directly to the mechanics or the engineers.

Having said that, I got my truck back today. About two weeks sooner than previously thought. So yay for that.

They replaced the mass airflow sensor and the air filter. But Toyota was heavily involved with the repair and they aren’t 100% sure it’s permanently fixed. They think the snorkel may need some alterations before it’s fully resolved.

Do with this info what you want.

Thanks for the update. Interested to hear if anything more comes of it.

Thanks for posting this. Last year on my way home from Overland Expo MW I was towing a 3k trailer in the rain back up the pass and I experienced this. It lit up, felt like it lost power briefly, but then just kicked back on and I never had another issue on the drive.

Strangely enough, just 2 weeks ago I was driving home from this years Expo MW and it was raining in the same area (Frisco) and I had the same stutter in basically the same place. No lights this time though.

I will talk with the techs over here and see if they can dig up any info.
