Like the title stated, I purchased C4 Rock Sliders Back in July and they finally arrived this week (after an estimated 6–8 Week Lead Time). The sliders themselves look great quality-wise, but everything else about the experience honestly left me pretty frustrated.

Hardware Nightmare:
They sent a hardware bag that made the install way more confusing than it needed to be. It included bolts/nuts that don’t even fit the 4th-gen Tacoma, while also missing hardware that should have been included. Combine that with the fact that the instructions never address the specific bolt sizes required — and only say to “snug up the bolts” — and it turned into a total guessing game.

Instructions for reference: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0..._Slider_Install_Instructions.pdf?v=1731012201

Customer Service:
I called and they overnighted a new hardware kit (which did work), though it still included hardware I never needed. They also said they don’t publish torque specs and suggested I look online at what “most people use.”

Torque Specs (Verified + What I Used):
If anyone else is stuck in the same boat, these are the torque values ChatGPT ultimately helped me determine based on bolt grade/material (using antiseize):

3/8″-16 Grade 5:
👉 22–24 ft-lb

M10 × 1.25, Class 10.9:
👉 40–43 ft-lb

M8 × 1.25, Class 10.9:
👉 20–22 ft-lb

Hopefully this helps anyone else who opens the box, sees the random hardware, reads the vague instructions, and wonders what planet they just stepped onto. The sliders themselves seem very well made, but between the delays, incorrect hardware, vague instructions, and “just look online” torque advice… I’ll probably look elsewhere next time.

Can you post a pic of them installed? All the issues aside how long did it take to install?
This is disappointing because I like a few of their parts.

I ordered sliders from C4 in June. I kept getting the 2 more weeks thing. I emailed them very infrequently. Around the end of August or September I asked them for a shipping eta or cancel my order and they canceled my order and refunded my money.
They claimed that they had just purchased the company and were having teething issues.
The big problem I had was no communication unless I asked for it. Multiple missed eta’s and just canceling my order rather than make it right and get my slider/steps out the door. My original order stated I believe 4-6 weeks lead time.
I would say buyer beware with C4 Fabrication.

Absolutely! The install took about 2 hours once I figured out which bolts went where and finalized the torque specs. Overall, the installation was fairly straightforward, and the mounting points lined up with the frame pretty well.

One small note: on the driver’s side, I did need to undo one of the clips securing an electrical wire along the frame. The slider frame is fairly large and was making contact with it, but once the clip was released there were no issues. The instructions didn't mention needing to do that.

Glad I’m not alone — that mirrors my experience pretty closely as well.

Between missed ETAs, zero proactive communication, and quality-control issues that shouldn’t happen at this price point, it was a frustrating process overall. I understand companies go through transitions, but ownership changes don’t excuse repeated missed timelines, poor communication, or incomplete kits.

The sliders themselves appear well built, but the buying and install experience was rough enough that I’d recommend buyer beware as well.

I have a front & rear bumper coming along with sliders. When I ordered they mentioned delayed lead time on the bumpers and that everything would ship together. My order just shipped and all in I’m about 10ish weeks. Order placed mid-October.
