My dog loves to stand/lie down on the center console and would always stand too far forward or look uncomfortable trying to position himself over the cupholders. I was hoping someone would create a solution to this issue, but I finally had the time to put something together myself. It's not perfect, but it does the job. I also topped it with a piece of leather and lined the underside with felt to reduce any rattle.

I have added a copy of the stl file if anyone would like to print one for their pups!

Just a thought, @Dankoma — maybe not market this towards dog owners… and I have a 102lbs black lab and a 72lbs Belgian mal olive dog, so it’s not that I am against animals just that it’s limiting who might be interested esp when your dog does something “cute” and atypical of most dogs… my Mal sits in the passenger seat and Lab lays all across the back. That said, it might be a good idea to use this as a drop in storage to hold cables and other small item organizer. Now if anything, for those with larger dogs, if you’re still wanting to stay with the canine focus…. Add 2 bowls on either side as an iteration so there will be a water dish on one side and a treat bowl on the other.

I had suggested to Muslogy to make a little container with a lid for the rear cupholders last year when they were asking for ideas. I thought it would be a great spot to store some small tools and also act as a platform for my dog. I am just getting started with 3d printing, but maybe at some point I will have the time/skill to try for something a little more complex. For now, this solves my problem!

I might be able to print some up for people, but I want to test mine out first to make sure it's stable and strong enough.

What 3D printer do you run? We have two for the shop but the two we run have very different purposes… the Raise3D E2CF is our carbon fiber filament printer and tend to use it more for our custom parts for engine bay and interior components on our BMW Ms, Toyota Supra and my RX7 FD… then our Markforged is for everything else especially creating custom audio brackets and “cheaper” components that don’t have to be as impervious to heat and needing to be as light.

Great idea, out beagle has to be buckled in the backseat. She seems to do good on the trail drives so far but she if she needed a spot to put her front paws while looking out the window in her "captains seat" this is perfect.

Id give a try but my printer is too small. Prusa Mini
