please go over the process one more time? What page is that again? ?
I think as you have indicated, it’s a hardware or software bug in your truck. Your truck is not behaving like mine with the same settings.

I just spoke with service at the dealer near me. They opened a ticket for this issue. We verified that me and the salesman with the same SR5 have that same issue. They noted one more person asked about it a while back, who also has an SR5. Theyre going to discuss it with the techs and check out other models to get a baseline on if its trim related.

If i had to take a roll the dice guess, the TRD's function as intended, and it may be an SR5 issue. They do have different hardware. Either way it clearly isnt turning off.

I did watch a video where a dealer did the turn off on a corolla. In the comments section, there were quite a few folks who said they couldnt turn it off with the settings function. The dealer mentioned that some countries outside of the US dont allow it to turn off, so that software version is probable to exist. I should find out soon enough.
Im also going to contact toyota directly.

I am confident it’s a bug. My truck is completely silent and no annoying pop up messages either. I hope they get yours fixed.

I also hope a firmware, and UI update is coming. I’ve been in the IT and software business a long long time. Toyota programmers do not impress me.

Might be a dumb question, but have you tried holding the select button on the setting to turn it off permanently? My OR, I had to hold the button down for like 3 seconds to get it disabled.

That might be where it differs in the trim displays. Mine just has a single press on/off. There is no long press function.

So it seems now everyone with the off road version is able to successfully disable it.
