I may do that next - you think it will fit the TH with no mods? I don’t have much more than half inch remaining on full lock but I think that can be fixed with minor alignment adjustment - my castor is not as far forward as it could be even within specs - speaking of which - I cannot seem to find a consistent spec sheet for the 2024 TH for alignment - every single one is different so there’s nothing I can take to my after market toyota shop to go off of.. and the dealer is a joke
Yeah, 285/75R17s will fit the Trailhunter with no major mods. You might get a little rub on the front liner or mud flap at full lock, but that’s an easy heat-gun pushback or quick trim. The newer Tacomas don’t need a body-mount chop since Toyota redesigned the mount, so it’s just plastic contact if anything. Wheel offset in the +25 to +35 range works best, and if you have the shop push caster forward to about +3.5° to +4.0°, that gives the tire plenty of room. Toe and camber can stay within normal factory spec. Basically, a small alignment tweak and maybe some liner work is all it takes.I may do that next - you think it will fit the TH with no mods? Garbage. A little over 12 mph, but I drive it like a race car and live in UT in the mountains. I also have a ton of extra weight. Steel skids, bed and roof rack, RTT, etc. 3 inch lift with+25mm offset will easily fit 35sWhat’s your mpg like and do you have a lift?
No regrets with my setup. I wish they integrated a grab handle on the driver side. I will be adding rock sliders which will help with stepping in and out. When I upgrade to Icon suspension in a few years, I may actually drop it an inch. But I think the stance is great overall.I bought my 25 with the factory lift kit 2 months ago and still looking for wheels and tires. I'm going with Methods but torn between the 285/70 and 285/75. @Bucky_O , your truck is definitely pushing me to the 285/75 option with the 25 offset. Mine's underground too so it should look exactly like yours.
Nice. I have the Cali Raised rock sliders with kickout coming next week.No regrets with my setup. I wish they integrated a grab handle on the driver side. Yeah this is actually one of the big changes Toyota made with the 2024+ Tacoma redesign.Tell me more about the redesigned mount on the new Tacoma. On the TH there’s tons of room in the front because it has a cutaway so not sure this applies to me. Great advice on the alignment specs etc. thanks !!

On the 3rd gen, if you wanted to run 285/75R17 or bigger, the biggest rub point was the cab/body mount (the chunk of metal behind the front wheels that ties the cab to the frame). The tire would hit it under compression or at full lock, which meant people had to do a BMC - literally cutting and plating that mount for clearance.
With the 4th gen, Toyota re-shaped that mount. It’s now tapered and pushed back further, giving more natural clearance for larger tires. That’s why most people running 285/75R17s on the Trailhunter or TRD Off-Road only report contact with plastic liners or mud flaps, not the mount itself.
