Suspension strap length

I was under my truck and noticed one of my springs was no longer seated correctly. A friend suggested suspension straps so it won't happen again. He described making my own, but I see some places where you can buy them but they are different lengths. Does anyone know what length to get?

The term you are looking for is a limit strap. If you are running factory suspension your shocks in the rear are what limit your down travel. Your rear shocks fully extended should still be shorter than your rear spring at full droop. Unless you put some crazy long shocks in the back you should not need a limit strap.
