Any issues with rocks chipping your paint when you go wider to a 265 or more? Has your mpg changed when you went from 245s to 265s?
I saw a small MPG hit from going 245 HT to the 265/70/17 BFG Trail Terrain. I also went to steel wheels though so I definitely added 10lb per corner minimum... I can still get 25MPG without issue.

245s will throw rocks, 265s will throw rocks lol

Get mudflaps...

I own a 2024 SR and had those steel wheels and 245. I upgraded to Method Wheels 316 17x8 and 33ā€ tires in the 255/80/R17 Nitto Grappler and they have plenty of room to spare. No lift or shocks added. Words of advice from Toyota, trust our product, no need to replace everything.

This is awesome. I’ve thought about going narrow with thicker sidewalls like this to get to 33ā€. So would this give you more ground clearance than 265/70 R17s? I wonder which would better for mpg and maintaining a factory drivetrain feel.

Sick AF. See I love those stock wheels with a bigger tire. I kept my SR5 stocks as back ups because of photos like this. Great looking truck! šŸ’Ŗ
Yeah it does look good with the stock wheel. Should’ve come this way from the factory.
My SR5 is in the underground color with the blackout package. So a little contrast with the grey/silver stock wheel might look cool. I really don’t want to spend the money on a set of methods, but I like them. I think the bronze wheels like on the trail hunter would look really cool with the underground color. I would love to put some dark green wheels on it.

Where are you located, if you're interested in a t r d off road suspension with less than a 1000 miles, I've got 1 for 500$ in Washington State.
It includes the upper control, arms and drop links as well?

Texas. Thanks for the offer but I don’t think I’m ready to upgrade the suspension right now.

Has anyone noticed that on the stock suspension that little bumps on the road seem to be more jarring then they should be for a truck designed for off-roading?

Do you still get into 8th gear with the 33?
I’m wondering too if this affects your performance. How’s articulation, turning, acceleration, gearing, gas mileage?

How the heck do you get 25 mpg? According to the truck I average 18, but on some commutes I’ve gotten 24. Most of the time on my commutes I get 19-21. City not highway.

I don't drive like an A-hole and with 265/70R18 in SL I'm getting 16 in the city lol

Yeah, I baby my truck and drive like a grandpa. I feel like with 4 cylinder engine, mpg should be better.

I go 65 on the freeway, and trust me around town I'm not getting 25mpg. I'm seeing 25mpg on the freeway, at 65, when it's not extra windy, and on trips longer than ~10mi lol there are some requirements haha

Considering the TRD OR runs 265s and our trucks are very similar, honestly it feels fine. I noticed the shocks seem to be working a little harder to keep the heavier steelies and tires on the ground, but that's to be expected.
