This looks to be the same issue the Ford Bronco had with its Bilstein shocks as well. Corrosion will cause the piggyback reservoir to detach. Usually Bilstein makes pretty good shocks but I guess you can't win them all. I live in sunny SoCal so I'm not worried but I guess it'll be nice to get a shock refresh after a few years of driving.
