Just curious if anyone has heard of transmission issues still lingering past the TSB vin cutoff Toyota released now that the 25’s are out. I’ve been enjoying some 4th gen Tacoma build videos on YouTube, but some people on there like to take a narrowed down problem and fear monger for their own kicks I think. First it was the transmission issues and now this whole break line issue. Overall I can say I’m pretty happy with my 4th gen and appreciate how Toyota kept it simple under the hood vs gm’s 2.7 and fords 2.3.

I haven't heard of any issues for awhile. And I have no issues as of yet at 3700 miles. This truck drives better and faster than my Gen2.

I’ve got a little over 2,000 miles on mine now and the truck has a build date of 11/24. So far I have really no complaints except for my manual seat lever that raises and lowers the seat. Seat drops down after awhile, but I believe I’m hitting that lever getting out and pushing it down slightly, enough to lower the seat. Only quirk I have on my transmission is when driving around and you hit 30mph the truck likes to downshift at that mph and it’s a little edgy feeling. Other than that the truck shifts great. More fun to drive than my 3rd gen I had.

mine is a late Oct build and outside of TSB. No issues whatsoever. Actually quite smooth. I'm sure theres possibility that there could be outliers, and who are not on these or other forums, but no news is good news.

MyTRD off road is a march build. My serial is in the TSB range. 26000+km and no problems at all. Most of that mileage is towing my 2100 pound camper, and part of that a 14300 road trip with camper and kayak to Alaska and back home to Ottawa Ontario.

Today on my Tacoma the transmission made me start to worry. Bump and shakes in 2nd gear. What I have to do now step by step to fix that?
I know that dealer should fix that for free, but what if they won't?.
Thank you very much

Mine is outside of the TSB VIN Range. When cold, it has some pretty harsh feeling shifts from gears 1-3. Also likes to lurch when shifting between P, D, or R. Seems to go away once warmed up but I really hate it. Anyone else with this problem?

I'm in the TSB range, but mine has done this from day one. Seems normal with these transmissions as others have reported it as well. Goes away and shifts normally after it's warmed up.
