Just installed the Trumgeta side steps on my 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport and figured I’d share some thoughts for anyone considering them.

They are a surprisingly solid for the price. The steps are pretty lightweight, which actually made installation easy enough to do solo. Took me around 45 minutes total to remove the OEM oval tube steps and install these.

The powder coated finish looks clean and matches the truck well. Clearance from the ground is about the same as the OEM steps that came on the truck, but visually the truck actually looks taller and more aggressive with these installed.

Grip is also much better than I expected. My older family members had no issues getting in and out, even with the truck sitting a little higher.

Overall I’m really happy with them so far. Maybe because I had them on my 4Runner before I got the Tacoma. Definitely one of my favorite appearance upgrades I’ve done recently. Curious what everyone else is running for side steps/sliders on the 4th gens.

Agonized over Amp, Rough Country, Greenlane, and even OEM for weeks on end. Finally decided I was not going to make up my mind & bought Trumgeta EZ side step upgrade (A-C1844V29) at about 1/10th the price of Greenlane, but they obviously don't do the same thing. I did decide not to put power boards on at the moment in order to avoid the extra complications and possibility of failure. However I still wanted to be able to easily configure for nearly full ground clearance which meant I eliminated welded steps. That pretty much narrowed it down to Trumgeta EZ and Rough Country SRL2. Mine are independent steps for each door and the front ones can be removed with 3 bolts if needed for that last bit of ground clearance between just missing that rock and needing rock sliders. Yours are more like drop down running boards and look much better than what I envision mine will look like after install. I've checked the hole spacing on mine & they look like they match up to the truck. They are a bit adjustable sort of like the Rough Country SRL2 adjustables, but on a smaller scale and without the ugly RC end caps (which is the main reason I did not buy the RCs). You can buy the Trumgeta for only the front two doors, but I went ahead and bought the 4-door set even though I only plan to install the front two for now, in part because the price for all 4 wasn't a huge jump in price over just two of them. To sum it up, I suspect the Trumgeta EZ upgrade is a better looking extrusion and extrusion end cap system than the RC SRL2, and it remains to be seen whether or not I like the look after mounting on the vehicle. I do, however, expect it will be perfectly functional as the fabrication and finish appear to be reasonable quality. It is, of course, body mounted, not frame mounted, but this system would not work as a slider anyway. But if it were frame mounted, the step could be sacrificed without damaging the body in a scenario where something hits the step from the side or the bracket from below. My 2 cents ... oops forgot, we're not doing the penny anymore, so I guess it's a nickel now ... inflation.
