Ok everyone, I was wondering how deep of water y'all have had your trucks in. Specifically the hybrids or Trailhunters. While out on a trail a couple weeks ago we were camping near a river. It rained hard for about 6 hrs and just listening to it rain I knew the new day the river was going to be up a lot more than the day before. When we got up the river crossing was about 30" deep at the deepest spot and I wasn't too sure about going across it. I'm on 35's but I was a little worried about the back door seals with the hybrid components under the back seat. We decided to not do the crossing and go around another way. So I'm wondering how deep is too deep for my Trailhunter. lol Picture of the shallow crossing we did instead.

Up to the rear doors, unless you want to see how well the hybrid battery cooling fan moves water :cwl:

Apparently Diehl Toyota of Butler PA has Trailhunter marketing materials claiming up to 35” and they’ve tested it to 40”

if the MAF sensor gets wet, you can almost guarantee your truck will throw codes, and it can happen immediately.

Inspect those door seals 🤙🏼

The deepest I have been was up to the rock sliders on one of the nine crossings on Medano Primitive Road (CO) with flowing water and a mud bog over the sliders in the Blackwater State Forest (FL). Like you, I have no interest in determining whether my door seals are tight. Have to wait and see whether Independence Overland is brave with his Bowen/Alucab build.

I’ve been slightly above the bottom of the doors on a river crossing in the Ozarks on a stock tire Trailhunter and had no water intrusion whatsoever. I stared at that crossing for a good long time and even waded through in my sandals before actually taking the truck into it, lol.
