Anyone in the community purchased a cell signal booster? Toyota has one that works with all cell phone service providers. Part Number PTN0C-00140. Considering putting one in my new Tacoma/

If you installed one in your Tacoma, what is your perspective?

I thought about a cell booster, but decided to do a 12V Starlink Mini system instead, mounted to my roof rack. Thus far, it's worked exceptionally well - albeit a bit of a higher cost, but a lot more flexibility in remote areas or on long road trips.

Did you have buy it from a place then have them install it or did you install it yourself?

How well does it work in heavily wooded areas?

Nope, just bought it myself, along with the Starlink-branded rack mounting kit. It's very easy to DIY. Removing it is super easy too, as it's just a thumbscrew.

As long as you've got some partial opening of the sky it'll work pretty well, but in denser areas it may occasionally get choppy as the satellites come in and out of view. If I'm parked and the truck is in a pretty covered area, I just remove the dish and move it to a more clear area on a separate tripod I made for it.

On our recent trip to Moab, our campsite was a cellular dead zone for everyone. A cell booster may have helped, but a single Starlink provided reliable service to a group of about 15.

Incredibly well. And now that they have a super cheap plan based on usage only, it's super worth it.
Sold! I was debating between the weboost and starlink. I think starlink is the way to go

Has anyone tried mounting the weboost or starlink in the taco?

Starlink is really easy. For the mini, they have a Starlink-branded rack mount if you have a roof or bed rack. Works great, It's just an adjustable metal clamp.

I haven't installed it yet (waiting on the powerswitch), but I'm setting up a similar Starlink configuration.

Starlink Mini
SavageUTV mount
Baja Racing voltage step up
Powered via a Garmin PowerSwitch

with the $10/mo plan it's tough to beat.

No, you need to activate on the $50 plan and then opt for the $10 plan after the first month.
There are videos on youtube about it.
