42611-AK051 is the TRD Offroad 17' wheel while the other number is an accessory wheel from the previous gen 4Runner.
I thought your Canadian parts lookup was limited 🤣

Maybe you'll be able to find it then if those are incorrect for the US Prerunner

Parts look up shows all the trims we have in Canada. Those AK051 wheels are the ones that came on my truck and description specifically states TRD Off-road and off road premium trims. I think the ones he is after is the all black version which looks the same but comes on and is possibly the only trim they come on, the PreRunner. I’ve seen photos of them but unfortunately I don’t have a part number for them in my system. The PreRunner may also have the same wheels as mine as an option but photos on Toyotas website even show the all black version so they exist, but it just seems to be hard to find the exact part number.

Cold start until RPMs drop:

Freeway merge about 25-60 MPH. Gave it like half of the beans:
Damn! That sounds really good! About 100x better than that axle dump I had on lol
I need to go back and read your details.
Thanks for posting those.

My skid will be here today!

Sucks about your cover. I'm pretty stoked on my $80 roll up cover from eBay. Minimal water up by the bulk head when it's dumping up here, but I never put the weather strip.

Yea pretty much. I know you can just paint/vinyl them to look like that but there obviously has to be an all black wheel listed somewhere.
I had never seen them! They are cool. Keep us posted if you find the #

Now, I'm not saying I'm gonna spend more money, but I am curious what other OEM upgrades folks have found enjoyable or useful (or both) when Toyota is having a bangin' 20% off + Free shipping sale like they're having right now.

I snagged the Landcruiser front skid for $244 the other dayšŸ”„ and I almost got the Trailhunter grill to match my wheels, but don't want to deal with the cost of the light bar + I dig the SR5's bar style grill paired with my illuminated emblem, so not touching it.

Couple other OEM things I've picked up during sales or with a one time use coupon:

• Front tow hooks ($90)
• Dark chrome illuminated emblem ($140)
• Trail hunter wheels and caps ($870)

What are some OEM upgrades my fellow Taco owners have enjoyed long term ? +1 for photos!

Cheers !
Awesome post — any reason to go with a Land Cruiser skid plate over the Tacoma version? I’ve seen this before, but wasn’t sure if there are advantages to doing so.

Just the "Toyota" vs "Trailhunter" lettering. That's it! They are basically the same. I just like the Toyota stamp

Also I'm installing today, will post the install notes and photos!

That’s the same reason I’m looking to do the Landcruiser plate. I prefer the ā€œTOYOTAā€ over TRD or Trailhunter.

Must be your install. Had mine on for over a year and I don't think it's ever gotten wet in the bed.

Purchased and DIY installed an OEM Toyota tonneau cover (PT954-35240) in early Dec when Toyota had 25% off. Combined with the dealer discount got it for $863 OTD including tax. Was impressed with the overall quality and fitment. Do have a small gripe with the look and routing of the drain hoses in the front part of the bed though. The install was straightforward and easy. Only took a few hours to install.

Do get some slight water intrusion around the tailgate area with heavy rain. Not a concern for us, but might be an issue for some. This water tends to come in through a small vertical opening (with no weatherstripping) located on the left and right side of the tailgate where the top 1-2" of the tailgate and the bed meet. The tonneau cover provides excellent water protection horizontally around it's entire perimeter. However, in my opinion, it would be unreasonable to expect it to prevent water intrusion in this vertical seam located between the tailgate and bed. I suppose Toyota could provide some weatherstripping to stuff in this area, but rather doubt it would stay in place long.

@ixo mentioned they liked the OEM 360 camera. Ditto. I believe this is one of those options you have to use to truly appreciate. When parallel parking it's priceless. Gives you broad visibility that's impossible with just mirrors and/or a standard backup camera. It's pretty cool how the software stitches the wide-angle views from the front, rear, and two side cameras all together to form a single, low-distortion birds-eye view of the entire area around the vehicle.

The 20% off sale from Toyota has caught my eye as well. I would like to add the dark chrome illuminated front emblem and the black chrome exhaust tip to my 2025 Tacoma TRD Sport. Likely won't be able to install until spring but, does anyone think its worth holding out for a better sale? In other words is it likely we might see 25% off in the near future?
