Okay so this might be a weird one. I like listening to YouTube videos as podcasts while driving. However YouTube is super quiet in CarPlay. I have to turn the volume up to 35-40.

In contrast Spotify or Apple Music is the same level of loudness at 18-22. I have a JBL system.

anyone know what the issue could be?

I believe it's because YouTube is playing through Bluetooth and Apple music or Spotify is playing through Android Auto/car play.

The truck treats them as different volume controls.

I could be completely wrong but it seems to not happen when I'm just connected to Bluetooth and not Android Auto.

On a relater subject, the one thing that bothers me the most is that if I'm listening to YT on Android auto and I change the volume it switched to playing the music on YT music. Only way to listen to videos on the background and not have this behavior happen is to use Bluetooth as my audio source and then I have control of the volume. Problem is when using BT as the audio source then I can't use maps. Seems like an implementation problem on the Toyota software as I can do it on both my wife's Mazda and my son's car that has an aftermarket head unit. Anyone else noticed this?
