TRD Pro 91 octane - Cobb Accessport custom calibration.

Final result was just over +50 horsepower vs stock.

On warranty: nothing can void your warranty, but anything (tune, intake, tires, whatever) can be used to deny a specific claim if they think it caused the issue.

For Toyota to deny warranty they need to prove without a doubt the tune caused the defect. Tuning a car doesn’t just automatically void the entire car.

Dealers are happy to do warranty work.. why? Because Corp Toyota is the ones paying for it.

Close. It’s not “without a doubt” it’s a preponderance of the evidence which means they must show it’s more likely than not to have been caused by the modification. The applicable statute is the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. So it would be a fight in court if they denied it. But I just wanted to clarify that the standard is not “without a doubt”— otherwise you got it right.

Many people assume that modifying a car or truck automatically defaults to warranty decline. My point was it doesn’t.

I read, "preponderance of the evidence" and immediately knew a lawyer was in the hizzle.

Good distinction, and really good to know, I might take the plunge and tune my TRD Pro and get it to kick a little harder.

Bad ass and thank you! I'll give the out-of-the-box tune a go for a few days and see how it goes. Hopefully I can get it this weekend before Houston turns into an ice cube.

For the up north folks, 20 degrees is not much for yall, but our sad little grid, paper homes built for hot weather, and our sad little fleet of sand trucks & 2 plows simply does not cut it.
