Just got done installing the AlphaRex Prismatic Nova Headlights along with their Taillights.

The Amber DRL is

Need to see what the OEM TRD Pro lights are worth and sell those now.

Nice!! I got mine two days ago, still sitting in the garage waiting installation. I like the amber look. Holding off on instillation until I get my fogs and possible grill replacement.
You have to remove the whole bumper to replace the headlights, right?
What taillights did you get? Alpha black or just black? I'm still trying to decide which ones I want.

Yeah. Whole grill comes off. It’s sort of a pain but take your time and keep your screws organized.

I got AlphaBlack taillights.

I think I'm going to go with the black taillights instead of the alpha black after seeing your video. Not to crazy with the pale looking outer edge. Being told the black ones are tinted dark so that outer edge is not so obvious. Again thanks for that snippet.

What are the differences between the two tail lights, as far as features are concerned?

Watching several YouTube videos on the install they don’t remove the front bumper or grill. It’s just a few screws and swap

There are two screws that are only accessible with the bumper removed.

One of those screws might be accessible but it would be tricky. One for sure is behind the bumper itself.

The AlphaBlack and Black features are exactly the same. I was told by the technician at AlphaRex that the alphas don't have the chrome reflection on the inside (it's blacked out) and the blacks are just tinted.
I asked which one looks better if I wanted the blackout look and he said black.
I'm hoping the tint will cover up that pale outer edge strip.

I did not remove the entire bumper. I unbolted the upper portion including the two bumper support bracket in the middle and removed the flares. You will have to be real careful doing it this way though. There is one screw that goes in sideways right behind where the bumper meets the fender.

Alpharex nova series? Does this option come with the Amber daytime running lights instead of the white you’ve got there now? I’m told it’s possible to switch the color via smartphone app.

Also how do you feel about the light output? Is it similar to OEM or better?

Better than OEM. Cutoff is more defined so it’s a toss up since I have more light on the ground but everything above the line is no longer illuminated.

It can do Amber. I initially had amber but felt it didn’t fit my silver truck so I switched it to white. I would have preferred to no have the bottom bar light up but it’s ok. I wish they had connected the two white wires to a toggle in back so we can switch white/amber without having to remove the light.

The app requires another module that isn’t available yet. It might be relesased after sema.

Yes. You can switch to the Amber DRL with a quick adjustment to some cables inside of the light.
