I spent along time researching and contacting dealers and it paid off. Compared to other trucks and there is no comparison. Hybrid is so smooth and powerful. This is a great truck and no regrets. Premium and Hybrid worth every penny, in my opinion.
This holds true with so many things. It amazes me how people will get " sold" a house, vehicle, hot tub etc. Lot of money to get talked into or out of. Smart move on your part.
That's a good deal. You most certainly did NOT get $5500 off MSRP. They toyed with your downpayment. Was it brand new? Even used, you wouldn't get that much off MSRP. They definitely moved things around to appear like you got that off the top. Remember though you clearly put a a ton done when you purchased your Civic giving you equity plus several thousand down, on top of that $8,000.
You most certainly did not get 5k off your Tacoma. What package, man? Even then, the markups not there. Unless you had accessories and also bought some crazy warranty, oil changes etc. which are all 100 percent a rip. It's interesting to me to see how many people are claiming they got off the top MSRP. To many details are missing. You could get the most loaded package at invoice and MAYBE get 2700-2900 off, which is the markup from the second invoice for customers. I have worked at Toyota for years as a finance manager. I know quite a bit about raw costs.
I can tell you I got $9,118.00 off MSRP (Original Sticker) Hybrid Premium with no add-ons except bedliner and skid plate, floor mats, all on the original MSRP. The dealer most definitely gets a holdback and the longer the truck sits or left over, the more room in the truck. I was very surprised when the dealer gave me this deal. I paid a $495 doc fee. No trade. No Warranty and no protection plane. While I was shopping around and saw $3,500 everywhere and $7K from another local dealer in NH. All the MA dealers told me that I could never see more than $3,500 off. I was persistent and not in a rush. I will try and share the P&S and sticker if I can redact the personal info if anyone is interested.
Hey what’s up man. I actually didn’t put any money down on the Civic since it was a lease and I negotiated the OTD price of the brand new 25 Tacoma before I even discussed whether I was going to lease/finance and put any money down.
