These prices take me aback. I PPF'd the forward-facing metal* portions and the top of the rear fenders (under my cap's side doors) for about $150 using 3M's PPF purchased by the roll.

It's doable as a DIY project using rolls of 3M PPF available on Amazon. I did the same on my (then new) 2016, and it looked as good as the day I installed it when I traded it in last August.
There are plenty of good YouTube videos on how to apply it.
