It’s on the inside, leading edge of the door. Towards the front of the truck. Yes, door needs to be opened to remove. I found opening the door fully and then bringing it back to the first notch works best.
I think there’s 4 or 5 plastic fasteners. A trim removal tool is your friend. Then some careful maneuvering and you can pull it down out of the door. Push the door all the way open and then pull it back towards you to the first spot it sets in on its own. That will give a little more clearance...

No regrets so far. Been making little changes here and there. Used Carista to change a few settings and it was much easier than using FORScan with the Bronco. Can’t do as much with it though. Doing a lot of reading and planning out mods. Probably next summer before I do anything major, like a...
I searched a little on Amazon and didn’t have much luck. Searching “foam washers” mostly brings up these metal or plastic discs that are used with foam. It’s not that much of a difference so I think they might work.
Mine is the TRD Off Road as well. Did I see somewhere that the TRD Pro has these big (maybe) single piece wheel well liners? Wonder if that would be a good solution… certainly much more $$$$.
There’s 2 of these in each wheel well for my Taco. There’s a smaller one forward of the one pictured. All 4 were floppy as hell. And one fastener wasn't even pushed in on the left front! Huge thanks for finding and posting this!
