Larger cab than any mid-size, 1700lb+ payload, 11,000lb towing capacity. I'd say it is a full size. Drove one last week and was pretty blown away, but in Canada, even the base trim is almost $40k more than the hybrid TRD OR I'm waiting on, so I can't even come close to justifying it.

Yeah I've been seeing a Tundra Limited TRD OR hybrid advertised lately for $79kCAD all-in. Trailhunter is $86kCAD??? I'm happy with the TRD OR pricing though. Was expecting a bigger bump up from the gas OR Premium.

I agree with your intervals. As for oil & filter, I intend to go OEM. I think Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 is another good option.

Those hybrid models look like they're still pre-production. The door panels aren't textured. That won't change the lack of leg room in the Pro, of course..

Because of the arrangement of the electric motor on the Tacoma, I wouldn't expect the engine will need to rev at all. The clutch between the engine and motor will likely disengage, and it will use the transmission to turn the motor and charge up the battery. It's a different drivetrain layout...

The manual says 87? And it's the same engine as the non-hybrid. Perhaps the confusion is that AKI87 is equivalent to RON91? In North America, use 87.

No, the hybrid builds are already being allocated for May, so it is starting up right away. Actually curious if the ones at the media event are production models instead of prototypes.

I keep forgetting that is going to be an option in the US. For Canada, we will not see a hybrid Sport. Only TRD OR, Limited, TH, and Pro.

That's what I was originally hoping for, and I was a bit disappointed when it became apparent we wouldn't really see a mileage improvement on the hybrids. BUT, the way I look at it is that you're basically getting upgrades on the hybrid models without the usual mileage penalty. If you take a gas...

I'm a little confused on what differentiates the LC and the 4R now. The 4Runner looks a bit more aggressive from factory, but they basically share the same powerplant and I can't imagine they're all that different in terms of size? I was kind of expecting the 4Runner to have the 3.4TT non-hybrid...

FML I can't believe how much they (Toyota) are making us wait. The Land Cruiser was announced after the Tacoma, but here we are - LC reviews on the 16th, Tacoma reviews a week later.

TFL just posted that they will have full driving impressions of the Land Cruiser on April 16 7AM EDT, so I am assuming that is when the media embargo ends for LC and hybrid Tacos. Edit: now they have said April 23 for the Tacoma reviews ?
