2024+ Tacoma Cabin Air Filters

Here’s a pic of a dirty K&N oiled engine air filter from my ‘13 Honda CR-Z taken in 2022. You can see bugs and bits caught in it. It looks gray due to lighting but was more black.

Oh shit - I just realized that toyota sent me a video of their inspection and they DID check the air filter — it’s “still good” — they just messed up the documentation.

You mean the plastic part where the metal clips hook into?

Man, that concerns me. I’d have to buy a whole new air box. Maybe I should let the dealer break them.

No, I haven’t cleaned it yet. That is not very dirty. Once it’s dark all around and no longer red, I’ll do the cleaning. Probably in a few months.

That's my standard for when to clean the air filter too. I've had lots of experience with these filters on all kinds of machines, and as long as you can still see the filter material you should be fine. Now that CR-Z was ready! lol

Even if the dealer breaks it that doesn't mean they will replace it unless you catch them. I've had dealers lose bolts, strip threads and break parts and never say or do anything about it.

Houston dealers suck but i have never had them not fix something they broke … but fair point
