2024 Tacoma Software Anomalies

I've been driving my truck for a few days now and I also have the TPMS issue.

My biggest complaint though is the way Siri functions with Apple Carplay. In my F150 when you use Siri to send a text or search for a place to navigate to (hands free), it mutes/pauses the music so that you can clearly hear and communicate. On my Tacoma the music stays at full volume but the driver's side speaker stops playing music and communicates the Siri voice. It's really awkward because I can't hear what's being said over the music and it appears Siri can't hear me either over the music. If I make a phone call the music pauses and all speakers play the call which is how it should always act IMO. I searched online thinking it might just be a setting I had wrong, but it looks like this is an issue that lots of Toyota owners have been reporting for the last few years. Very frustrating!

Wondering if anyone is experiencing 2 issues I've been having, 1 from the beginning but rare and 1 that just started a few weeks ago. Both are related to the main Display 14".

1. Intermittently the Cameras just have a blank display no messages. Hold the display power button until it resets
2. Intermittently the Radio will turn on at startup for 3-5 seconds then cuts out and can't change the station or any other functions. Hard reset to get it working again

I tested and found a fix that some users were kind enough to test and document (and figure out an infotainment reset that I did but missed as step 1) - see link for solution. This is with the latest software after the gage cluster recall fix.

Interesting- but of note, since this discussion, I’ve traded in my ‘24 on a ‘26 and there are zero issues with the TPMS saving on the display. I mean seems odd to have to jump up and down while rubbing your tummy, blink you eyes 3 times and then stand on one foot for 5 seconds. Toyota should just make it work.

Glad to hear that, and 100 percent agreed but for those of us with this issue I'm happy to do the dance if it means never having to switch to TPMS after each and every startup. Just sucks that Toyota didn't come up with the solution - some nerds on a forum had to.

I just tried something similar to fix my TPMS gauge on my 2024 ORP. I removed my driver profile and reset it. My gauges seemed to default back to factory. Then I set TPMS on 2nd gauge cluster right side using available options for that side. So far it seems to be staying. I also realized something that might be a software bug. If you are on the left or right side in edit you can push it again (left/left or right/right) and there are additional options to toggle on or off to display on that side. Originally when I got the truck I didn’t see TPMS available on the left side (2nd cluster) but you can turn it on as an available option. I think this is what I did before because I wanted TPMS on left side of 2nd cluster. I wonder since I turned TPMS on for the left side gauges if this is what started my issue of it changing off TPMS to another setting because it’s not available by default. I started losing it after that. So far setting it on the right 2nd cluster (which is already an available option by default) seems to be working. I hope this makes sense. I will try to repost if it fails.

I’m happy to report my TPMS seems to be staying on for 2nd cluster right side after I reset my driver profile. Thanks to everyone for the help! I’ve been fighting this for 2 years now.

Yeah same, no one will understand the joy we get after fighting this for 2 years! I told my wife it was fixed and I got a half-hearted thumbs up

It worked fine when I started the truck in the garage/driveway several times and I thought it was fixed. Today I drove for lunch and it reverted again to the Trip A reading, so not fixed. It seems like driving it with trip mileage changing messed it up again.

When it didn't "stick" do you remember if you shifted out of park before the screens loaded up? I know that's kicked my settings out. When you start the truck, make sure to give it enough time to initialize the stereo screen and sync up to the info screen.

I always wait for the screen and phone to connect before ever putting in reverse. I always wait for the engine sound to change so oil is circulating before moving it. I wonder if it’s related to the Trip mileage.

The fix sounded too good to be true. I’m sure it’s something that needs to be fixed by Toyota, not a jump up and down on one foot while rubbing your stomach and blink three times.

I just ran through the steps, I wasn’t prompted ever to select my profile and enter a pin . But was oddly therapeutic to reset everything and start fresh.
