2024 Tacoma With 198,385 Miles For Sale

So I was looking at the used market for these first model year trucks, and came across this posting by a Nissan dealership:

The listing page says that it has over 198,000 miles on the truck, and it is just over a year old. There are no pictures of the odometer (or any at all for that matter). The carfax agrees with the mileage reported by the dealership, but just don't think it is possible for someone to put on that kind of mileage in one year of ownership. If this is real, it makes me much more confident that my truck will last 20 years, but it seems like the most likely reason is an error by the dealership entering the miles into their computer system.

Its got to be a typo. Even If it was driven the first day they shipped around dec 2023-jan 2024, they would have to had put on 350-500 miles every day, non stop for the 1-1.5 years they've been out.

I looked up the VIN and this popped up. It has 19,820 miles on it. They added an extra digit.

Im sure its a typo, however. To the OP, youll enjoy many miles of taco ownership , i have had many tacos that did the 200,000 mile mark, for 4 - runners as well, i sold last 4runner for 14,500 had 201,000 miles…………..what can i say. Its a TOYOTA……

Hmm, well id say this is a Great Testament to our trucks, thats fast milage, im impressed theres a 4th gen out there with those miles………..Those of us that love our tacos can all smile, we all made solid choices for our trucks

i almost bought a 2020 Highlander in '21 that had 86000 & a big discount
listed by dealer too
But it had never been serviced at all going by the vin#/carfax
a search provided that it was a business rental
i've heard of these cars they r on the road 24/7

The thing about Carfax is that it is rigid and very prone to false data entry. I have seen too many instances of a car being locked into having higher mileage on carfax because an inattentive mechanic entered an extra digit.

BALANCE OF FACTORY WARRANTY — which is none. But hey, you do get a full detail and a “recent” oil change for your money.

At that mileage, you'd expect it's already gone through multiple sets of brakes, tires, and probably around 19 oil changes—if the mileage is actually legit.

For sure a typo but they did but very high miles on the prototype trucks, I heard upwards of 500,000 for some of them.

No way. 400 miles a day everyday including weekends and holidays. 26 oil changes. That's eight solid hours of driving a day everyday. The numbers just don't add up. It's a typo for sure. Carfax is so inaccurate it's almost useless.

I emailed the dealership and it is an error The actual mileage is 19,819
