2024 TRD Max QI Charging Pad Issues

Wondering if anyone else is having issues with the changing pad. My iPhone is compatible. The one that came with the truck didn't work, the first replacement didn't work, and the current one barely charges. I even left the phone on the charger for 5 hours during a road trip and I think the charge went down,.

Qi is an inefficient charging system. If you leave your screen on and apps are downloading data, Qi won't keep up.

How thick is your case?

The case is not really thick. I even tried with out a case and the charger just does not function well.

I'm curious, do you have a factory power sliding rear window? It's square shaped. If so, was it open during your charging attempts? The truck has a software glitch, if that window is open, the phone stops charging. You should see an indication on the infotainment screen whether the phone is charging or not.

Ended up purchasing the wireless charging pad that you put the apple much into. Works great. I have to turn my phone sideways, but couldn't be happier. Toyota really missed the boat with the Qi charger.

Its not Toyota, its the nature of Qi.

Qi is universal, magsafe is not.

Toyota didn't miss any boat. Qi is charging at best, and it's the phone that decides the charge rate (to the max of the charger). Supposedly the OEM unit is rated to 15A which is pretty much the current max standard.

I don't know a single qi charger that can keep up with or beat the drain of wireless carplay or android auto in active high use. They just slow down the drain

I have a 16 pro max and the built in wireless charging keeps it full and charges while running apple maps and spotify over wireless carplay.
