2025 Toyota Tacoma headliner sagging

2025 Toyota Tacoma headliner started sagging 8 months after the windshield was replaced through insurance by a third-party glass company. I took it to Toyota, and they blamed the third-party replacement and denied my warranty claim. I then contacted the glass company, and they also denied responsibility, saying it happened 8 months after the replacement and is most likely a Toyota issue.Anyone else experience this?

I did remember one other thread reporting a similar issue, but only one and there was no end result. That dealer was covering it, but there was no windshield replacement involved. You can search it but I doubt it would help.

Fyi, the windshield has to come out to fix the headliner reguardless.

Looks like the same problem, just a slightly different situation. At least his was covered by the warranty. Mine was immediately denied by both the dealer and the auto glass company.

Man that sucks. Unfortunately it was predictable. To Toyota third party glass replacement or for that matter any third party work gives them an easy path to deny warranty. Moral of the story use the dealer for glass replacement or risk warranty denial at your own peril.

I know this sucks, but I’ve used this company through my insurance so many times on different vehicles and never had a problem. Not for a split second did I think I’d have an issue with my Tacoma.

May be moisture got into the liner while the windshield was broken and it caused to sag now that is dry. Maybe You can approach your insurance again and reopen the claim and have them do a supplemental damage.

The windshield was cracked on the bottom, so I don’t think that would be a problem. I’ll definitely talk to the insurance company again. However, given that there’s another person who had the same problem as I did and had never had their windshield replaced, I’m concerned that this issue may happen again in the future to others.
