Has anyone seen the ordering guide for the 2026 Tacoma? Curious if the manual transmission made it another year. With Gladiator dropping out after 2024, not sure how much longer Toyota will continue the gear jammer.

There's no such thing as ordering a Toyota, but hopefully, they're committed to three pedals through this generation, and you can wait out the spec you want.

I'm happy with mine, so if you want the MT, go for it.

Yes, Toyotas “allocation” process is not really “ordering”. Ask for 10 options and they send you 7 with 1 that you don’t want and 2 that you’re willing to live with.

The one or tronoptions they choose not to include is usually something you can’t get done aftermarket or if it is available at the dealer it’s 4 times the cost. With me they decided I really did not need the SDM.

Although you can't actually order a Toyota product the document that outlines what options are available for every trim is called the "Vehicle Ordering Guide". I still have the one for 2024 and eventually there will be one for the 2026 model year, but probably much closer to when they start production, maybe sometime in the fall of this year.

Since Toyota changes mechanicals on their models very slowly, my guess is that the manual will still be available next year, but in the same limited numbers as 2024 and 2025.

The lifespan of the MT will be determined by emissions regulations, or they'll continue to offer it through this generation's lifecycle.

If you want a specific build, you're probably better off using Google Alerts and going to wherever the vehicle is located. The dealers either wait out an allocation similar-ish to what you provided them, OR they attempt to find within region, and the dealers don't exchange as freely as they claim.

Toyota builds what they build, and you either buy it or you don't, there's no magic in the process. Don't let a dealer convince you otherwise.

The google alert would look like this. It's worth adding that this hasn't generated any results since I added it 6+ months ago.

"Supersonic Red" "Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism SDM" "6-Speed Manual Transmission" "2025 Toyota Tacoma" "TRD Off-Road Premium Package"

I ended up finding one that otherwise met my list of must-haves, but was white, and "used" with 1,400 miles (Toyota options research fleet) at 20% off msrp, so admitting defeat in my search wasn't too painful.

Just remember to lower your expectations and that you're the third priority, what's good for Toyota, what's good for the dealer, what the customer is willing to pay for, in that order, always.

At least until the 5th generation of Tacomas.
I agree. The emissions regulations don't matter at this time and Toyota will probably offer the manuals until the next full redesign. Another thing to think about is that the mechanicals were almost identical from the 2nd gen through the 3rd gen, so it might not even change when the 5th gens come out.
