Hi Everyone,

Just purchase my new 2026 Tacoma SR5 this week and I'm in the market for some new tires and wheels.

Just ordered some 285/70/17 Falken AT4W, but I'm trying to decide on either going +25 or +35. I've seen a lot of +25, but I'm really looking for minimal poke from fender flares and I'm worried +25 will be too much.

Would love to see some shots of anyone who has +35 offset rims. Ideally if anyone has the KMC Impact +35's, that would be amazing.

Thanks for your help

If you are concerned about poke differences between +25 and +35 honestly I’d just keep the stock +55.

I have +35, 285/70/17 AT4 SL’s. With RokBlokz XL’s and TRD cast running boards …you’ll still have gravel flying everywhere. Put extra ppf on your rear fenders before you install your new wheels and tires

Well the stock SR5 wheels are very ugly. I'd ideally like .5-1inch of of poke with the wider tires and offset

Raceline Rouge wheels 18x8.5 +35 offset. I also wanted to minimize poke but also wanted something different than black so that limited me a lot.
These are just barely out of the fender wells, looks to be around a quarter of an inch. i am happy with +35 and personally wouldn’t want to add any more poke than I have.
As for slinging rocks or debris, I went with the Toyota Canadian mud flaps and between the minimal poke and those wider mud flaps, I haven’t had much paint damage.

Would you say you have about 1 inch of poke on each side?

Great build, it's a good looking truck. What size tires are you running with those?

I would agree with you. That’s why I went with zero offset in mine. This gives about 1.5 to 2 inches of poke.
Here is a bunch of photos of my truck and aftermarket wheel. Tire is 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT4W like the ones you’re interested.

Thanks! I have a little experience since this is my third Tacoma.

The tire size is stock size for a Limited 265/65/18. My build intent was OEM+, so I didn’t stray far from stock on any of the mods.Everything I have done is completely reversible, which could be good for trade value down the road.

I would say the tire are basically flush with the fender flares. Having said that tho…the SR5 has different flares, more slim. So if you’re keeping those stock flares, you’ll need to consider the poke amount. Also, check on RokBlokz website as I’m not sure if the high clearance flaps are compatible with the SR5. However I did see one post where I guy was successful with them anyways. End of the day, go for the look you want…but make sure you have adequate protection for the paint. If you sneeze on it, it chips

Keep in mind your wheel width. Mine are 8.5“ wide with +35 offset on 265 tires and I just barely have any poke out of the wheel wells. With your 285 tires being 20mm wider, i would stick with 8.5 or 9” width wheels. I am sure plenty of folks go with 285 tires on 8” wide wheels and will enjoy arguing with me, but do your own research.
If you go with 9” wheels with +35 offset, you are right at the additional half inch you mentioned wanting.
Also someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the TRD off road, Trailhunter and Pro’s with the black over fenders are wider than the SR, SR5, TRD Sport and Limited with the colored matched painted over fenders. If that is correct, the pics of those builds will not work out the same as your SR5.

My 8.5 width wheels are fine for 285. There are tons going wider with 315. Also you can also purchase aftermarket fenders to compensate if needed.

Agreed with above. I’ve applied ppf on mine.
5,000 miles so far and no issues.

You did a great job! I did the exact same thing but struggled with the contour of the panel…had to make relief cuts. Still better than it being exposed

Here’s +25 with a 8.5 inch wheel width. So if the wheels you’re looking at are also 8.5 inches wide +35 will be 1cm (.40 inches) less poke.
