Has anyone done or found a plug and play 400w anytime mod for the 4th gen Tacoma yet?

On the 3rd gen Tacomas the 110v outlets will sit at 400w at idle. As soon as you drive they kick down to 100w. There is a cable that you can plug in to keep your truck at 400w idle or driving. The 4th gen does the same thing for the 110v outlets. I have not been able to find anyone making a 4th gen cable to keep our trucks at 400w.

Thanks. That makes sense. But why in the world would they limit it while driving when the charging system is putting out more?

Is yours a hybrid model or no?

Has never made sense to me either. Should be the opposite.

When I bought my truck a year ago I tried to work with the Anytime owner to come up with a solution. The inverter is similar to the one used in the 3rd gen but of course they had to change it just slightly enough that the wiring harness doesn't match. I tried to see if I could get it figured out but didn't want to start cutting my wiring harness and as soon as the Anytime guy heard the 3rd gen wiring was different and wouldn't work he pretty much ghosted me so I gave up trying. It's been over a year now so I'm kind of surprised no one has figured it out.

...and this is not the hybrid. The hybrid has a completely different inverter (although I believe it's limited when driving as well).

Well thanks for the heads up on that on. I guess I will not contact them then.

Wouldn't hurt to try. Like I said, it's been a year. It's odd that it appears the 5th gen 4Runner is still using the old inverter since the website appears to say that it's the same product as for the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas. If you scroll down there's a chart that says the 4th gen Tacoma takes the "4.0" kit, but I don't see that listed on the website. Maybe that means he's actually working on it though....

Let us know if you get a positive response please. I'm also interested in an anytime 400w.
