Hey guys!
Im not very technical...
Im not using apple carplay.
While using the nav/gps, the volume level sucks...
How are you guys going about turning it up.
I tried hitting the volume knob while directions are playing, still not loud.
Phone call volume is plenty loud.
system voice level within sound settings tab is cranked all the way up.
its like if im listening to the radio, hearing directions is tough...
thanks

Nav instructions should be ducking the music volume so you can hear it. There's probably a setting specifically for that. Alas, I don't use the pathetic Toyota navigation so I'm not sure. It just works on Android Auto.

You can change the volume of the specific output while it's playing (e.g. turn volume up/down while the gps nav direction is playing to adjust the nav volume). At least it works that way with Android Auto. My other car was the same for both factory and Android Auto. Worth a try.

Doing circles around the neighborhood I did confirm that the volume knob does adjust the NAV volume. But ultimately at the end of the day seems like the max NAV volume is much quieter than phone call volume. I guess it is what it is….🤷‍♂️
I have a better time hearing just my phone versus going through the system…🤨

Can you use the voice command without Android auto? My Dealer says no, I've seen a video that it does. My 24 Tacoma with Premium pkg didn't let me use the voice prompt earlier.

Same issue with incoming text messages. They are not audible with the stereo on. There must be a setting that temporarily mutes the radio while listening to messages and directions??
