Thank you for the comment, the WIDOW is almost finished. Where are you located at?I'm always looking to go wheeling with someone.
I'm down in the Washington coast, Westport, Ocean Shores
Love it out that way. Got married at Seabrook 10 years ago!

I think I'd go Land cruiser if I was going OEM. I dig that "Toyota" stamp!
Good call! Bet it looks great. I was torn between a few high quality plates after this and hours of being down the research rabbit hole. I still love the OEM Landcruiser skid. During a 25% off sale it would be a steal.
That does look good and price is nice. Anyone know for sure if this one fits the 2024 Tacoma Sport?
Does it require the cross member?

I think it depends on your intended use. Most people who need a skid plate (meaning it sees action) would want to pay for something of quality. For me, it made more sense to get the APC skid plate from Amazon.

I am typically an “OEM+” guy on my vehicles. Tasteful modifications while maintaining a stock-ish look and factory features. I have a TRD Sport that will realistically never have a rock climbing or crazy trail situation in its lifetime. I removed the air dam and saw the composite/felt looking splash guard, and wasn’t happy with that. I looked into getting a TRD skid plate, but even with stacking promos, it was 3-4x the cost of the APC.

Functionally, the APC is thinner gauge. It is made well though, I had no damage in shipping and the fitment was perfect. No alignment issues at all. I also like the oil filter trap door. I did my first oil change at 1,200 miles through this door with the skid plate on, and it was surprisingly spacious. I used a hard funnel, but I ordered a moldable plastic funnel for next time to make it even easier. I do all my own oil changes, so that’s a big difference maker for me against the TRD skid plate. If I was actually going to need a skid plate for protection, I would not consider APC. Aesthetically, I also like the black finish of the APC versus the stainless/silver look of the TRD. But I could easily paint.

You get what you pay for, but you don’t always have to pay big if you don’t need to.

100% different experience than I had with mine from them. And they completely ghosted me once the finish started falling off and the lettering was rusting. They do not stand behind their product at all. I also don't like how they say it's "made in the USA" when (if you click those links) you can see it is the same plate with the same hardware as every other generic front skid that comes from china. I could be wrong, but does seem awfully "sus" as the kids say.
I refinished it though. Looks good and will be good for someone doing city driving for sure. And I'm glad you like yours!

Usually I'm as sus on the way too cheap "made in the usa" products as anyone, but if you streetview their address in California you can see the laser cutter through the open garage door. So they probably aren't lying. Doesn't mean they have a customer service team to help with problems or anything.

Finishes are hard, that's why we moved ours in-house years ago so we could control it 100%.

Yea I did that as well, but that doesn't mean they don't get the same plates wholesale from the same factory and then cut and and stamp a counterfeit TRD logo on it at their facility. It would be a funny coincidence that they have the exact same design and exact same hardware (hex bolts, rubber washers, included allen key) as everyone else who is selling the exact same skid plate (links above). But you're in the business so you would know better than me!

Yeah, unsure, and they totally could be doing that. Surprised, Toyota hasn't shut down the TRD logo yet.
