Hello everyone! Figured I'd start a build journal as I don't intend to keep my truck stock.

I picked the truck up last week. After driving a Lexus IS500 through almost 4 winters, I decided a nearly 500 HP RWD car wasn't really working for my lifestyle anymore. Even with studded winter tires, the car was best described as passable in winter. I'm in western Canada so we get real winters. Every season, there were a few days where I didn't go somewhere because of the Lexus. Don't get me wrong, it was/is a great car, just not as a year round car in a place where it's not uncommon to get a foot of snow or more in a day.

Anyways, so far, all I've done is add the Toyota three stripes to the front grill. I do have Weather tech floor mats on order, and I'll be ordering some wheels (likely bronze Method 318s) soon. I'll probably do an OTT tune as well.

Sweet! Congratulations on finding the 6MT. It took me almost two years and a bunch of persistence. Save the manuals!
I look forward to seeing where you take this. Just the other day, a friend asked me about trims. I told him, if you're going to heavily customize the truck, you may as well get a Sport and use your savings to fund your modifications.
I love the WeatherTechs. They'll hold several Sorel Artic Pac-loads of slush and snirt without leaking on your carpets.
NICE TRUCK!

Let me echo @HardShellTaco - thanks for saving a manual! My daily is a ‘23 Integra 6MT, although my Tacoma is a snobbish Trailhunter, the diametric opposite.

Your new truck is gorgeous with the Heritage Blue, and I dig those nose stripes…will look forward to seeing new wheel pics and more on your build. Welcome to this forum.

Welcome, congrats on the rare 6MT with sweet color.

I have a 24 TRD Sport 6MT with rare bronze oxide.

TRD Sport is the way to go, even a solid base when modding. Just looks better with hood scoop, color keyed and better OEM rims.

I drive my 25 Camry SE for winters. Put 16 steelies on with WS-90 Blizzak's and she is a beast even with the electric rear awd. This was my 4th winter I have parked my 16 SR Tacoma and now 24 Tacoma and never drove it. They plow just enough to get the Camry activated.

Tossed in the TripleALiner bed mat:

I also tried to install their tailgate mat. I stopped partway through as it was getting frustrating. The holes, necessary for the install, are not pre-drilled. I don't know why. This makes it a pain in the butt to install as the holes need to be fairly precise otherwise you get wrinkles and the mat becomes misaligned.

If you are feeling spendy, have you considered a smooth tailgate cover? The one I put on from Mountain Hatch is food grade plastic cutting board. Works great and bolted in clean. Others like the features of the Billie Bar although it is even more coin.

Was feeling productive so I went out and finally removed the already cracked air dam:
