Snowway makes a good light plow. And the truck has easy grommet in the battery area for the wires to come thru. My installer had this all set up and decided to just get a snowblower and freeze to death.
lol. The "easy grommet in the battery area" has me curious. I'll have to look for that. Admittedly, Tacoma's are very new to me and I know very little about them. I've had the vehicle for about a month and have no idea where the battery is, hybrid or otherwise. Makes me feel kind of dumb, but I'm learning.

Had a Corvette where the battery was in a compartment behind the driver's seat. Didn't much care for that. To get back on topic...

Tapping off any old 12v aux circuit will not work. Plow setups typically require a very high current draw, and some require a beefed up alternator. Lights barely draw any current in comparison. Appreciating all the feedback so far, though.

unused spades are not fused. You need to add the requisite inline fuse or sub-fuse box. It's simply an extension of the battery hot.

Here's my setup running to an in-line fuse, then onward to the switching relay.

I'm assuming that red wire is connected to the spade terminal?

If you think you need an aux alternator, you could explore the variety of posts on how and where folks have tucked on-board air inflators/compressors.

g'luck. thankfully I can plow what I need to with a 40" on my tractor.

Correct. Red wire ends with an insulated 14-16g female spade terminal that is then heat-shrunk on it's crimp fitting for safety. It's pressed down onto what was an empty male spade within the F&R center. The fit is snug enough you're using pliers to pull it loose. That wire then runs to an inline fuse, then to the relay you see zipped. from the relay, branch one runs out and through firewall to dash switch, while branch two runs out and over to the grille.

If you're interested in a bunch of photos on that journey, I have them here. You just have to scroll for the notes and pictures on wiring. I ended up taking the effort to pop the upper/lower fuse box layers apart enough to feed my wires out the OEM channels.

In the hybrid, you access both batteries by pulling three snap plugs from along the front edge of the rear bench seat. Centered under each seat position. pull out with a trim tool, then twist and remove. Seat then hinges up towards the back. You might hear ripping, but it's ok. It's just a Velcro panel between the 60/40 split to trap for things not falling down through. The 12v is on the driver's side and the hybrid takes up most of the rest. There's a small fuse center on the passenger side. The port to pass out of that compartment is on the driver's side if I recall correctly. Or if running from the front, go through the firewall grommet, then pull and go along the floor trim at door edge until you get to the bench trim. The manual calls out that if you ever need to jump the 12v, there's a direct hot clamp point in the passenger side F&R box within the engine bay.
