I got my Ark Mids a couple of days ago and installed them. I'm usually not a fan of mud flaps and only had them installed on my lifted brodozer with 35s for legal reasons, but I actually like the look of these! They seem effective enough and I like that when you purchase them you're supporting a small business.
I did get a little confused with the install instructions. I'm not a mechanic, but I have done everything from suspension to brakes to timing jobs, so I'm not completely inept. However, Ark instructs you to "leave the female factory grommets in place". Well my truck didn't come with OEM flaps and I don't usually install them so I had no idea what these were. Eventually I figured it out, but for those of you who don't know what they are I put a picture below - you mount the flaps by screwing the hardware directly into these. And if you break one they are only 99 cents from Toyota. Here is the part # 90189-06236.
Wheels are Toyota Trailhunter with + 20mm offset. Tires are Yokohama Geolandandar A/T4 275/70R18.

I’m curious. I have the OEM Canadian flaps currently on my truck. Do you think the Arks provide better coverage?

Good question ! Those were my second choice to cover the +20mm offset. Ultimately went with Ark because of their styling and to support a small business, but would love to hear from someone else who's compared the two side by side.

How do you like your flaps? Are they effective? I installed mine earlier this week but haven’t driven through any dirt or gravel yet. I am just not a big fan of the gap between flap and fender flare. Also, they are very rigid

I actually really like them. I think they look good, install easy and provide excellent coverage. I don’t have any rock chips. Off course I do have the OEM wheels with the 265/70/17 AT4w’s, so no poke and plenty of coverage with the Canadian flaps.

I just received my Method 705’s with a +35 offset. I’m still deciding on tires. Keep the same size or go up to a 33”? I think my current mud flap set up will still provide great coverage. What is your wheel/tire set up?

Mine are the trd pro wheels: 18x8.5-inch wheels with a +20mm offset and 265/70/18 tires

I’ll chime in. My Trailhunter comes with 33” and I really like the setup.

Yeah, seems like that is the perfect tire size. Just want to make sure my offset isn’t too much once the Method 705’s are installed.

Yea I've got the TH wheels with +20 offset. Spec sheet on my 275/70R18 yokohamas say 33.5" inflated but I measure 32.75 @ 32lbs. You can see how much the ark mids cover up there.

I think I will be fine with the new +35 offset. The Canadian OEM’s have good coverage. Plus I have the rock sliders too.

Best ones out there! Look good. Plus I like that Ark is a small family American business! Not the norm any more. Rare seeing another Washingtonian!
