After only 40 miles of washboard road carrying the 220lb topper, my OEM shocks were completely blown. I wanted to get a medium suspension lift while I was at it to help with the pathetic ground clearance that the sr5 has and to eventually clear 34” tires. Here’s what all I did and the results.

I ended up using the middle snap ring slot on the front shocks for now.

Icon Diff drop.

OME uppers.

Dr. KDSS Panhard

Readylift 1” rear spacers were added to compensate for the subtracted ride height from the weight of the topper shell, but I have airlift bags already and use them to take up the rest for the time being. I may eventually add medium 2” OME springs.

I have my East Coast Gear Supply diff carrier bushing ordered. This is 100% non negotiable with any front end ride height adjustment. Mine is howling already.

Added an OEM TRD skid plate and support crossmember while I was at it to get rid of the felt BS.

Another thing worth mentioning is that I tried 3 tire shops and none of them knew how to do the alignment. Save yourself the entire day and accommodations I wasted and go straight to a Toyota dealership.

Looking good!

FYI I had the diff howl, ECGS was the fix. But there have been several reports of the Icon diff drop causing howling as well. If the ECGS doesn’t fix it it’s probably the Icon diff drop?

Yes I did read about that. I was assuming it was people mistakenly blaming it for the noise made by the needle bearing who installed the diff drop at the same time as they lifted it. When I get my bushing installed I’ll be able to confirm. It’s a dual disengage front end so it shouldn’t be able to make noise unless it’s in 4wd if it does. The diff drop makes a very minimal improvement in cv pitch but it rotates the diff forward and that might cause the driveshaft to be at an angle. I kept the factory mounts just in case. I’ll found out and post up
