Brake line recall for Canadian Owners

I called the dealer the other day in regards to the brake line recall. Toyota has also sent me the official paperwork for this recall. I was informed that it would be quite a while before the parts for this repair were in. Appears to be an issue in getting the parts here in British Columbia. I’m just curious to know if other Canadian owners are having the same issue. Is it a challenge to get this repair job done in other parts of Canada or just here on the West Coast? As I understand and it’s not a big issue in the United States. Just curious.

It showed up on the app a few weeks ago and I received a recall notice in the mail this week. I asked the dealer when I could book an appointment and they had no idea.

IDK about the US. The last time I called the dealer I was told they were waiting on parts and they would contact me when available....

I think I’ve had my question answered. After a little further investigation, I found out that the Parts delay is North America wide – not just Canada. Thanks for your responses.

I'm in Calgary, Alberta. I'm actually using the Cochrane, Alberta dealership, since that's where I purchased the vehicle. I'm also getting an oil change and am getting the L99 blind spot monitor reprogramming done while I'm there.

I work at a Toyota dealer here in Ontario, and we have zero issues with part availability at the moment. The recall did only just recently become available but so far for every truck we need to order a hose kit for, we get the parts next day.

I just had the brake recall and the L99 blind spot monitor reprogramming done while I was in for service last week, no problem. I had to go back today for a plastic trim piece on the seat rail under warranty and got to drool over the new 4Runner and a Sport Premium in Terra in the showroom.

Really like the 4Runner and the Sport Taco I was mostly jealous of the trailer brake controller. I’m in the Lower Mainland.

(unrelated, but interesting none of the non-hybrid Cdn 4Runners seem to come with the trailer brake controller)
