Hi,

I went in my Tacoma 2024 hybrid, want to star it but it won’t, it was telling me EPB problem.

I wait and after 30 minutes it starts but 3 malfunctions messages appeared .

I attached the pictures of the messages.

Anyone hear about it?

Is the engine cranking? Usually I like to start with the 12v battery system and go from there. Not saying that's the issue, but most electrical problems stem from that. Could be low on charge or have a corroded terminal.

The dealership is at 4 hours road trip and 2 hours ferry, so I take like a day to go there (that’s the nearest)
The car seems to work but still display the malfunctions, I saw on internet that yes it was cause by the 12v battery, and that they should disappeared after a few ride. I hope.

The 12v battery went low only because I was cleaning my sunroof and forgot the accessories mode for 30 minutes! That pretty bad

Glad it's OK !!
I was going to post a funny - but did not. I'd be sure. while it's under warranty and your lonnng distance to the Dealer that it REALLY IS fixed. If NOT call the dealer for a tow - I bet they fix that fast !!

@Rick97 This is pretty common in 4th gen hybrids. It has been four days since I drove my truck and right now it is sitting at 12.08 VDC. Even when I drive mine regularly it seldom goes much over 12.2. I charged it with a battery maintainer once which took it to 100%, 12.85 VDC. But after driving it a few times its resting voltage was back to 12.2 VDC. When my maintainer tests the battery before charging it labels anything below 12.4 VDC as discharged, so basically mine always is. That would also explain why your truck died while on accessory mode.

I am not an electrical engineer but if a hybrid can't keep the 12v battery charged I think there is something wrong with these trucks. So far mine keeps starting and I haven't had any warning messages, but I bought a jump pack so I feel like I can count on it starting when I need it. It isn't even just the hybrids without an alternator either, because one forum user with a 2025 Pro has his truck go stone dead if he parks it for more than a week, and his dealer says it is all normal.
