Cobb has been working on this one for over a year, and it's finally available to the public. I will be getting mine in the next day or 2 and will test it on my development truck. This is a great option since it keeps the stock lower airbox, and has a very OEM look, but still uses a high flow cone dry filter. Available on my site here:

https://camtuningperformance.com/pr...coma-2024-4runner-2025?variant=47951401320670

Message me if you'd like to pair it with an AP and a tune.

The COBB SF Intake System for Toyota's 2024+ Tacoma and 2025+ 4Runner features high quality components, reduces restrictions in the intake path, and looks great under the hood!

A replacement airbox lid is injection molded high quality plastic to survive the harshest under-hood environments for the life of your truck

Under the new lid sits a bespoke, high flow filter with massive surface area when compared the the factory panel filter.

An injection molded MAF housing features a smooth transition velocity stack for increased airflow. Integrated air straighteners ensure consistent and accurate readings by the factory MAF sensor.

Connecting the COBB MAF housing to the factory turbocharger inlet assembly is a 5-layer reinforced black silicone held in place with high quality clamps.

The SF Intake System is compatible with the factory tune and all COBB Off The Shelf (OTS) Maps.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH TRAILHUNTER OR TRD PRO

Note: CARB EO coverage for 2024+ Hybrid Truck applications is pending at this time. Stay Tuned as we work towards CARB approved 50-State status for i-FORCE MAX powered trucks

Interesting that it replaces fewer parts but is one of the most expensive intakes offered yet. Doesn't advertise any hp or tq gains either.

Obviously it will have less restrictions than oem for throttle response and make more turbo noises with the cone filter just like the rest of the CAI on the market. But what sets this particular product apart from say Banks, SXTH, or Injen?

COBB usually takes a different approach than a lot of intake companies. They tend to focus more on OEM-level fit and finish than making something flashy.

That’s also why it still looks pretty close to the factory layout. The goal is usually to improve airflow while keeping the sealed airbox style and heat management instead of replacing everything with an open system.

And COBB typically doesn’t advertise hp gains on parts like this unless it’s part of a full calibrated setup.

I have the SXTH on my truck, and have tuned just about every available intake on the market. They all work, and some are nicer than others.

I'll do some dyno testing on this intake very soon both on a factory calibration and custom tune. If people want to see it, I can compare the stock airbox, my SXTH intake, the BMS, and the Cobb. Having full access to the dyno makes it no problem to get data.

I definitely want to see some dyno data on various intakes.
1000%

Every intake manufacturer has variations in their intakes that may not necessarily be understood by the layman. If one of the bigger youtube channels could do a comprehensive side by side comparison I would love to see it. Especially if they could also partner with a tuner like Cobb or OTT.

For instance Banks takes the approach of using what appears to be the largest filter, and their tapered elbow which has had great results in the diesel world. Injen has by far the most elaborate looking change by completely reworking the intake scoop. Mishimoto looks to have shortened the intake scoop and greatly increased the opening to the airbox. Cobbs intake looks to be the most basic with the fewest changes, but they're also a tuning company who has active tunes available for the Tacoma, so mabey they know something we don't. I'd love to see a solid unbiased head2head pre and post tune with on the road testing.

Just don't forget the "noise test" for the 6 dudes that give a damn and just want to make their truck a noise box. Some one gotta make a baseball card clip mount that rubs the wheels for them boys.

If it makes turbo noise, sign me up

I'm not sure if it's possible on the dyno but it would be nice to see if there's a power difference in the daily driving RPM's. From what I've heard, most intakes make power at wide open throttle but not much of a difference for daily driving (the engine doesn't need the additional airflow at lower RPM's). Maybe it's different since this is a turbo application. It would be interesting to see actual data.
