I think at the same time, the dealership/tech could have raised any concerns they have with the non-factory parts and came up with a better solution than to just make do and cause a mess.
As far as aftermarket parts go, a skidplate doesn't seem like a big deal. The dealership should be happy you're there to begin with because oil changes are one of their big winners revenue wise.

I'm getting CBI front and rear plates (one day haha, ordered about 2 weeks ago)... and I'll be going to my local dealership for oil changes. I'll definitely tell them about it when I arrive. I don't think it'll be an issue. If they want to adjust the price cause of the plates, whatever, it'll still be worth it for me lol

Do dealers also whine when you take you trucks with factory skid plates in for an oil change?
My thoughts exactly. My truck came with the TRD skid plate. It's a giant chunk of aluminum. There are no access panels for the oil filter, or the drain plug. It's not too difficult to get off and on for an oil change.
