Best mileage I ever got since owning my hybrid taco is 25mpg. I wasnt expecting much better since I knew these were not designed for fuel efficiency in mind.

last two 16.3 and 16.0. all city driving. lives outside. when I'm home I plug in the block heater. night temps go as low as -9F and highs up to upper 20F's. lots of slippery roads running AT tires which don't do too well for winter traction.

My most frustrating part of my 2025 Trailhunter force is around a 250-275 range on a full tank. Dismal. So much so, that I would not have purchased. Gas mileage in regular mode city/highway etc., is 15.3. Is this normal? It just seems like a complete lie. Engine rattle 35-45 in that gear on slow roads. Highly disappointed. Would have got a Tundra.

It’s normal if you’re driving with a little spiritedness. Also mileage is low when your vehicle is new and engine and transmission are breaking in.

I have a 2025 Trailhunter long bed. With us towing and driving like a couple of grandmas, our mileage has been in the low to mid teens. When driving with faster acceleration and more braking, mileage plummets. Here is my calculated mileage so far. I’m hoping that once my truck is even more fully broken in, which some have mentioned occurs around 15,000 miles, I will see what my best mileage might be at that stage of the truckā€˜s life.

From January 13 to 26, I was on a road trip the first and last 3 days during that time span. Went up and down mountain ranges but not colder than 25°F. Hope this helps - let us know what your mileage and driving habits are like.

Amazing data capture! Am I right about the fuel capacity as well though? Maybe if I go Eco mode, drive under 35, and do only city driving I’ll get that. So far, interstate =15. City/work=15. Fill ups as much as O can find a pump.

LOL thanks, just data input. Been doing mileage tracking my whole driving life.

Yes I’m lucky to have the truck estimate 280 miles on a tank.

Eco mode is what I used on my trip since adaptive cruise was better with it in not too steep mountains. Mostly I drive in Sport with adaptive cruise but rarely do rocket ship take-offs. I don’t see much difference between Eco, Normal, and Sport as far as mileage goes. In fact, I usually get slightly better mileage with Sport. But my truck is still pretty new and breaking in with respect to mileage.

How do you make the hybrid..hybrid? It seems to rarely show any hybridness on the Max meter. Sometimes if I play the gas pedal like a fiddle it will do it for a bit. Also, I wonder why the truck doesnt remember Sport mode but does Normal and Eco...weird.

It’s only a mild hybrid in the world of hybrids, unlike the super duper Prius or old Honda Insight.

Sport doesn’t stay on as relating to attempts to meet emissions standards. Captain Kirk has to order the use of warp drive each time.

2024 Sport Hybrid owner here. I’ve found the 24mpg estimates to be pretty accurate, though it definitely drops for short drives on cold days. This engine seems to really like heat. Here’s some mpg screenshots I took last year. Daily commute with a mix of highway and city driving in PA. I’m using the stock highway tires that it came with.

Nice! What drive mode do you use? Do you actively try and "hypermile" or just drive?

I tend to go easy on the acceleration from a dead stop, but otherwise drive without much consideration for fuel economy. Commuting, I usually have it in normal or sport mode on the highway, and eco in the city because I prefer how it shifts. I haven’t noticed a significant difference in fuel usage between the modes, honestly.

Really trying, I got it up to around 29 mpg on drive from the northern to southern ends of Delaware, but it’s a super flat state. Unloaded, mostly highway speeds around 65mph. And that was really babying it.
